Young people need to feel safe and supported in order to learn and lead. As a crucial part of the Forum’s mission to change the odds that young people are ready for college, work, and life, the Weikart Center helps out-of-school time (OST) systems build the safe, supportive, interactive, and engaging environments that are foundational to youth development.
MENTOR Virginia is proud to be an Affiliate of MENTOR National, a national nonprofit whose mission is to fuel the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships for America’s young people and close the mentoring gap for one in three youth who want and need a mentor.
We are a non-profit network of survivors, Sexual and Domestic Violence Agencies, and allies working to strengthen how communities across Virginia respond to and prevent sexual and intimate partner violence.
Education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents builds an understanding of the importance of early intervention and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.
